About Highline
Founder-led stewardship, built to endure.
Highline Estate & Facilities Operations provides documented, preventive management for luxury estates across Park City, Deer Valley, and Utah’s Wasatch Back. We are a founder-led firm built on a simple conviction: the homes that matter most deserve operational discipline that matches their value.
The Western Trail Philosophy
Elevation equals perspective.
A highline trail is an elevated route—chosen not because it is easy, but because it offers something the valley cannot: clarity, range of vision, and the confidence that comes from seeing the full landscape. Our name, our philosophy, and our operating principles all stem from this idea. We choose the high route because it demands more but delivers more.
Elevation equals clarity and long-range vision
The highline trail runs above the tree line—where the view extends for miles and the path ahead is visible. In estate operations, elevation means stepping back from daily firefighting to see the full picture: documented systems, capital forecasts, and long-term value protection.
Intentional, durable routes chosen for reliability
A highline trail is never the easiest path. It is the most durable one—built on solid ground, designed to withstand exposure. Our operating systems are built the same way: methodical, documented, and designed to endure across seasons, transitions, and ownership changes.
Exposure demands competence and discipline
At elevation, there is no margin for carelessness. Every decision matters. We bring that same discipline to estate operations: rigorous documentation, preventive protocols, financial accountability, and vendor oversight that leaves nothing to chance.
Selective by design
Not every route leads to the ridgeline. The highline trail is chosen deliberately—and so are the estates we serve. We work by referral, taking on properties where the commitment to documented, institutional-quality operations is mutual.
What we stand for.
Transparency
Every action documented. Every cost visible. Every report delivered without prompting.
Institutional Memory
We build permanent records that survive personnel transitions, ownership changes, and the passage of time.
Preventive Stewardship
We address problems before they arrive. Scheduled, proactive, and accountable.
Total Financial Clarity
Capital forecasts, reserves planning, and vendor accountability—so owners make decisions from knowledge, not surprise.
Discretion
Confidentiality is foundational. Our work is visible only to those who need to see it.
We are infrastructure, not a vendor.
A vendor provides a service when called. Infrastructure operates continuously—whether or not anyone is watching. Highline functions as the property’s outsourced facilities director and financial steward. We manage the operating rhythm of the estate: scheduling maintenance, orchestrating vendors, documenting every service interaction, forecasting capital needs, and delivering monthly reports with photographic evidence, completed tasks, open risks, and financial summaries.
We do not wait for something to break. We build the systems that prevent breakdowns, and we create the records that prove it. The result is an estate that operates with the same rigor and accountability that institutional asset managers bring to commercial portfolios—applied with the discretion and personal attention that private homes require.
This is not property management. This is facilities operations—documented, preventive, and built to endure.
COO & Principal
Matt Durkee
For more than two decades, Matt Durkee has built and led operations for complex, high-value properties where reliability, documentation, and long-range planning were essential—not optional.
His career spans executive facilities leadership, capital planning, preventive maintenance systems, vendor management, and operational oversight for some of the nation’s premier private clubs. Throughout that time, Matt developed a conviction that many exceptional private estates were being managed with extraordinary care—but without the institutional systems needed to preserve knowledge across staff transitions, ownership changes, and the passage of time.
Highline was created to change that.
Today, Matt works directly with homeowners, family offices, wealth advisors, estate attorneys, and custom builders to establish owner-owned operational systems that protect both the physical estate and the institutional knowledge behind it. Every asset, maintenance record, warranty, vendor relationship, capital project, and operating procedure is documented, organized, and designed to endure.
“The homes that matter most deserve the same operational discipline applied to the world’s finest institutions.”
Beyond private estates.
While Highline is best known for serving private estates, Matt also partners with select businesses, ownership groups, and acquisition teams that require experienced operational leadership. Whether helping establish scalable facilities systems, serving as a fractional Director of Operations, or creating documented operating infrastructure before or after a business transition, his approach remains the same: build systems that protect value long after any one individual has moved on.
